Drone Fixes and Northern Lights

We flew the drone off Vancouver Island, and it lasted exactly as long as it took to clip the awning mesh on takeoff. A chipped propeller meant field repairs on the camp table—mini screwdriver, and the damaged “B” prop swapped for fresh. The low-tide view was worth it: oyster beds stretching toward the mountains.

We cooked by the campfire on the island. Two days later at the beach, we made videos—his and hers lol. We saw a black bear. “These are the moments we live for.”

We explored Little Huson Cave Park in the north. We saw flying fish. We stopped for lunch in Ucluelet and found gooseneck barnacles on the shore, each with a long, dark flexible stalk.

We drove to Maggie Lake to settle in for the night. The northern lights appeared. The photos weren’t amazing, but the view was there.
