Nova Scotia at 10,000

We pulled into Cafe121 in Sydney on August 25th: a lovely little place, busy with people, with beautiful treats and sweet people. It was a great stop to start our day.

We found Isle Madame’s beach next. By August 26th, we’d rolled 10,000 kilometres, and we handled the van-life essentials: laundry in Bible Hill and a hydro massage in Bedford.

That evening near Peggy’s Cove, we caught the stars and the Milky Way. In the morning, we woke up at Peggy’s Cove and saw the lighthouse and the waves.

Lunenburg gave us coffee at No9, and Carters Beach had sand dollars along the shore. We went snorkeling and came back over the following days. The Ovens Natural Park gave us another view of the Nova Scotia coast.

We launched the drone from Carters Beach and added another morning snorkel. A piping plover, a little seabird, was on the beach too.

“It was a rainy and late start to the day but we’re off and running,” and we headed toward Digby and then Yarmouth by August 31st.
