Coming Home

We got back to Port Colborne after months on the road and took the Blue Meanie out to show the town. Everything we needed was just a five-minute drive away: Grants Gifts, Canalside, and Neptune’s, which honestly has the best fish and chips we’ve ever tried. The Robin Hood flour factory sits right on the canal where they ship everything out.

We grabbed coffee at Pickadilly Books and visited Canalside Tasting Room and Gallery. After 30,000 kilometres, the wheel bearing was completely shot and the tires were worn to a four and a five on the inside. Once they hit a two, they don’t pass a safety inspection, so winter tires went on.

The beaver video hit 34 million views, and we launched the official Vamping Vampers store with beaver merch and bumper stickers. One night we tried Stamatistakeouts, a new spot in town, and ordered a bit of everything: lemon rice soup, pesto gnocchi, Philly cheesesteaks, and mussel linguine. “The food was absolutely wicked,” and the mussels were cooked perfectly. They had outlets right by the window tables, so we could charge our power station while we ate.
